Tennis Table Crossing Borders
▶Summary
Through the project, team has successfully fulfilled the set objective which was to directly and effectively tackle issues connected to physical inactivity by promoting the values of sport and an active lifestyle. Also, other specific objectives were managed as followed:•Engage children of different ages and groups in a fun and inclusive way while promoting the sport of table tennis through dedicated activities.•Collect useful information that can serve as a base for forming guidelines•Disseminate the collected information to educational organizations and policy forming institutions.High quality of the conducted activates is directly connected with quality control that was in-motion throughout the entire grant period of the project. Above mentioned was achieved by task distribution between the Coordinator Beneficiary and the Partners. Coordinating beneficiary is responsible for:•Daily communication between the project coordinators and partners (via skype, e-mail and phone)•weekly Skype meetings of all involved in the project•Establishing contacts with all participants taking part in any project’s element (local government, end users, educational institutions, subcontractors•Coordination of all participants activities involved in the project•Regularly reports on administrative and technical needs and potential problems of resources•Maintenance of collecting all project’s invoices and preparation of financial reports•Connection between the organization and the Contracting Authority•Dissemination of all information relating to all aspects of project•Reporting on the work of the participants who collaborate on work packages•The project in all of his aspectsPartners are responsible for:•communication with all those involved in the project•prompt and correct implementation of their activities•regular reporting on the progress of activitiesDue to responsible and high-quality management all of the planned activities of the project have been conducted. Since the beginning of the project, which was in January of 2017, project team has successfully fulfilled their duties. Activities that were conducted are listed as follow:•Project management•Summer table tennis camp in Poreč•Table tennis tournament for all•Club networking events•Marathon event•Table tennis in schools•Dissemination activitiesTheir detailed description can be found in report of activities.The success of project conduction is evident in trough achieved outcomes. Their quality is controlled with followed measures:•12 reports from monthly Skype meetings between partners;•1 briefing comparing methods STK Marathon and the partners use when working with people with disabilities;•1 briefing comparing differences in approaching table tennis practices between people with different abilities;•1 report summarizing the results of questionnaires;•12 reports on the progress of the project that the partners send to the applicant organization;•1 report on event attendance;•4 reports describing how the pupils have reacted to table tennis in schools;•1 report describing inclusion of different ethnic groups and•1 final report summarizing project results.Project impact was evident on the local countries since the activities directly included schools and community. Not only inclusion was the part but it also promoted table tennis as a sport that has many benefits for development of motor skills and psycho-social development of children. Furthermore, it demonstrated table tennis as a sport that includes people with disabilities. Project showed that table tennis is easy to integrate in school curriculum and can increase activity of school children as well as helping them develop healthy habits.
