SPORTO ADAPTITA NATURO NAUTIKA
▶Summary
The SANA project aims to improve the offer of outdoor sports to people with disabilities and is declined in 5 specific goals :-to promote the transnational networking of the practitioners of adapted sports and disabled sports ; -to promote social inclusion through gender diversity in sport, and to promote equal access to sports for all ;-to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity for health (physical and mental), by allowing greater participation in physical activities of people with disabilities ;-to develop transnational awareness-raising actions tailored to professionals (facilitators, nature guides) as well as to volunteers (basic training elements) ;-to improve the visibility of offered sports, by organising and giving a structure to them, thus promoting the attractiveness of a territory to specific audiencesWe started from the observation that there is:• a lack of specific and common criteria for certification of adapted sports / outdoor disabled sports• lack of communication on the theme of adapted sports / disabled sports on the territory• The non-existence (or almost non-existence) of practices mixing able-bodied and people with disabilities in outdoor sports• a lack of awareness of the role of sport for social inclusion and for physical and mental healthPrefiguration of a European certification label on disabled sports and adapted sportsThe innovative nature of this project lies in the establishment of activities promoting diversity between people with and without disabilities, to avoid discrimination and lies in developing disabled sports and adapted sport activities, but especially activities for all (mixed final raid). It also innovates by the implementation of concrete awareness actions, for which an educational toolkit has been created, and by sharing experiences regarding the inclusion of people with disabilities in all sports, both with professionals and volunteers, and by promoting a wider range of activities for everyone in all the territories. There is currently no certification in the EU for disabled sports and adapted sports. The prefiguration of an European Adapted / Disabled Sports Label will:- define common specifications for the certification of adapted sports and disabled sports,- do testings in one site per partner territory, to be later extended to other sites and other territories, thus demonstrating a common desire of the EU for social inclusion though sport for all.The prefiguration study for the creation of a new European certification label for disabled sports / adapted sports aims to give visibility to these themes. It will also emphasize the need to offer variety of sports to people with disabilities and will promote its development. Elaboration of Technical specificationsIt will concern the certification of the sites, and of the practices: legal regulations, basic amenities, equipment, signposting. The difficulty lies in analysing the various points above in order to set procedures and common practices in the three countries.Eventually in july 2018 we organized two testings on the sites previously chosen by the project team. It has been a great success because nearly 200 people participated: athletes with disabilities, people in functional rehabilitation, healthcare professionals, sports educators, a primary school and a holiday camp.During these ten days we have also raised awareness about disability. This experience allowed us to refine the technical specifications draft and the educational toolkit and their application during the final sport raid from the 22th to the 26th of September 2019.
