Aurora - Sport. School. Life.
โถSummary
The main goal of the whole project is to create the path for sportsmen or other stakeholders in the sport process to develop skills for working, volunteering or contributing to the good governance of a sport organisation. This goal matches also the growing demand for dual career opportunities, especially during the sport career. Two of the partner clubs, especially Record Team Bologna, inspired this project as it has more than 30 years of experience in this field, though it was never structured and organised in a project that could also be replicated in other environments.Consequently, this consortium decided which skills or subjects should have been developed first in a small grassroots sport club: Nutrition, Management and Training planning. We agreed that the teaching method, or the transfer of knowledge, should have been not-academic but more pragmatical: participants should learn from the team leaders that created the success cases we want to replicate. For the subjects we can't cover adequately with the internal resources of this consortium, an external expert should be identified and hired. Participants had to learn mostly by doing tasks and face real situations, more than by theoretic study and quiz tests. The education has been programmed in three steps for each subject: a workshop, a tutored e-learning and practical task. This process was replied three times for each subject: introduction, intermediate and final level.Participants could see in which subject they felt more keen on and eventually figure out a path for volunteering and achieve formal recognition of their competences and work: in Croatian club contract for volunteering has been signed with a selection of participants.A selection of these participants took part in a summer sport camp, where all subjects were taught and practiced at final level. The camp took place in Rovinj, Croatia in September 2019.The project produced quality material for further and remote e-learning, which is now saved in a web platform: these educational outputs have been presented also in other countries (Portugal) even in dedicated sport camps (Spain, Tunisia), as recognition of the good work done so far. This is also a consequence of the dissemination activities performed during the project such as press conferences, sport outfit with project logo, online promotion and communication, participation to competitions, also at high international level with excellent results. The project faced some difficulties and could be implemented only with hard commitment of the coordinator and partner responsible persons. Its major impact is a raised awareness of all participants about the functioning of a sport club at 360 degrees (not only mere sport practice), which will lead in mid-term to opportunities of employment for sportsmen, to better practices within sport clubs, to shared knowledge and cooperation attitude within sport networks.
