Equity through sport for youth development

Equity Through Sport for Youth Development aimed to improve social inclusion, equality, tolerance, fair-play, the reduction of educational difficulties and the lifestyles related to health thorough promoting and enhancing voluntary activities in sport for the young people aging 7-19 years old from 6 the most underprivileged schools from Bucharest, sector 3, Romania.The target group considered as a direct beneficiary of the project and was represented by 240 children from next schools: the „Mexic” Secondary School, the Secondary School No. 95, the ”Decebal” Theoretical High school, the Special Secondary School No. 5, the „Voievod Neagoe Basarab” Secondary School, the Secondary School No. 86. In the first phase of the project, the GANTT diagram has been updated and a series of plans have been designed to better implement the ETSYD activities and to have a smooth management, namely kick off meeting, round table with partners and city hall representatives, work meetings between partners and sport experts and teachers from target schools, preparation of the events plan, details and responsibilities, communication and dissemination plan, preparation of acquisition and rentals plan, and the risk management plan, elaborating the pre-sport event questionnaire and the follow-up/evaluation form for sports. The survey before the events were conducted online and also offline for investigating the rate participating in leisure-time physical activity, patterns in the daily physical activity of the children and teachers which were involved in the sport and physical activities. The survey applied after the events to the ETSYD participants aimed to gather information on the evaluation of each event, as well as the information gathered from the survey before the events.In the 2nd phase of the project, we developed the communication activities like: project website and graphic design, press release activity, elaborating promotion materials, Realizing the maintenance and applying the online promotion materials, uploading the press releases, uploading photos and relevant information regarding the project on the website dedicated to the project. The 3rd phase represented the implementation of the sports competitions in the following order: Trainings for the sport teachers from the targeted schools in the project aiming to develop the necessary skills for them to be used in working with the targeted group of participants. During this phase were involved 10 teachers and 240 children from 6 schools during 12 sport competitions. The 4rd and 5rd phases represented the follow-up round table and in this case we applied the post-event questionnaire and realizing the final study and also we did the monitoring and evaluation project phase. The finals phase was the organization of closing conference (at Ibis Hotel, Bucharest in June 2019) and also we applied the dissemination and PR plan in online channels. During all phases, the general objective of ETSYD project (to improve social inclusion, equality, tolerance, fair-play, the reduction of educational difficulties and the lifestyles related to health thorough promoting and enhancing voluntary activities in sport for the young people aging 7-19 years old from 6 the most underprivileged schools from Bucharest, sector 3, Romania, for 18 months) was achieved.
