Promoting short workout breaks for employees

This project addresses the health issues of employees in today's stressful times and abundance of work, where we forget too many times that movement is a source of health. Employers put pressure on employees to maximize productivity. Many employees suffer from a variety of pain due to prolonged sitting for a computer, standing work, repetitive movements etc. what cause many work-related illnesses. These are initially seen as tiredness, abdominal pain, general pain of the affected site, tingling, tension, discomfort, worse joint movements than usual, inflammation or swelling. The science that deals with this is ergonomics. Diseases can be also avoided by regular daily exercise during work to strengthen the most exposed parts of the body. The innovative aspect of this project was the promotion and creation of daily 10 minutes’ physical sports activities for employees that can be performed during work-time, which where presented by sport volunteers to companies in partner countries. Sport volunteers where trained for managing workouts for employees with support of e-learning platform. Project partners analysed the topic of health and sport activities for employees and published the Reported results analysis on the project website. Partners also presented best practices from all partner cuntries on how to improve the level of physical activities of employees, which is an integral part of the sport program for employees. Sport organizations/associations, fitness and group exercises organizations and other sport clubs where involved in promotion of the program of development and promotion of ACTIVE BREAK exercises for employees, with sports volunteers. Many different experts in the field of sport from project partners’ countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Italy and Bulgaria) cooperated together with the goal to develop innovative training of group exercises for employees and motivate them for training.
