Summary

The project implementation has followed the road map set within the workplan agreed upon by the Partner Organizations; the workplan has outlined: the stages in the project life cycle (Preparation, Implementation, dissemination, evaluation-networking-reporting) the Deliverables/outputs/achievements, Activities and deadlines, start/end dates, Partners involved. The workplan itself has been developed based on the Overall Work Progamme and milestones, as described in the application form.The exchange of good practice has been carried out along the so-called “Olympic Games of Skills in 4 Stages”, which took place during the planned 4 Transnational Project Meeting as follows:Stage 1 1-4 March 2019, in Ascoli Piceno (Italy): “sport and physical activity along the creative trails of spirituality”Stage 2, 4-7 September 2019, in Zagreb (Croatia): “sport and physical activity at the discovery of the natural beauty of landscapes and local traditions”Stage 3, 18-19 March 2020, held virtually due to the covid pandemic (originally planned in Fyli, Greece): “sport and physical activity along the creative trails of mythology and culture among peoples”Stage 4: 2-6 September 2021, Ascoli Piceno (Italy): Olympic Games of Skills FINAL PILOT EVENT: “sport and physical activity along the creative trails of spirituality, traditions, landscapes and mythology”Intermediate stages have been carried out: - to identify the good practices related to the development of skills in and through sport, based on valuable original synergies and interactions between grassroots sport/physical activity and cultural heritage according to the 3 different themes/topics of the stages n° 1, 2 and 3 (while the final stage has been a synthesis of them).- to assess in Partner Organizations contexts of overall situation as regards target groups dynamics and needs in terms of physical activity/inactivity and potential for the promotion of physical activity practice through cultural heritage and corresponding development of competences amongst sport professionals at different levelsThe transnational project meetings (three of them held in-person and one held virtually) besides the exchange of good practices within the “Olympic Games of Skills” in 4 stages have also been dedicated to project management purposes: such as planning, finances, coordination and communication between partners, dissemination plan, quality monitoring and evaluation.The TPMs have been conducted and supervised by experts and professionals in the fields of: human sciences, psychology/psychotherapy/anthropology, training in athletics- National Olympic Committee, event management and cultural heritage preservation and valorization, innovation/technology related to tourism and running, grass roots sport related to running in nature, hiking, basketball.The participants to the Transnational Project Meetings and “Olympic Games of Skills” had always the occasion to experience concretely in first person "on their skin", this synergy of sport and cultural heritage, also through outdoor practice of the good practices (has detailed in the reports on implemented activities)The TPMs and stages of the Olympic Games of Skills have been characterized by a blend of intertwined practical and theoretical sessions to facilitate besides the “contagion” of ideas, also the “contagion” of motivations, allowing a proficient involvement of participants, regardless of their backgroundsFinally, the last TPM and Olympic Games of Skills FINAL was designed and implemented as a real Pilot event to field test also with the participation of the public a new/innovative proposal combining sport and cultural heritage to attract people in physical activity (especially the most inactive ones)
