โ–ถSummary

Background Physical activity holds a lot of benefits for our health. With regard to cancer it can not only serve as a preventive measure but is also able to positively influence the outcome of cancer therapies. Being outdoors holds additional benefits to "just" physical activity and enhances those effects and promote health even further. The offers in this are very scarce especially for cancer patients. Objectives Within this project we focus on outdoor-events for cancer patientes, their families and friends. Those events have been shown to encourage physical activities. With regard to the project we thereby want to promote the idea of OaC:mygoal, show and inform patients and their families and friends about the benefits of being active and being outdoors. With the additional certification of trainers during the course of the project we want to increase the amount of those offers in the longterm. Implementation In five countries 22 outdoor events have been held over the course of two years. With the help of multipliers, flyers and online-promotion participants were acquired. 4 "train the trainer" workshops were held in which trainers (already qualified in the field of prevention, sports and training) were taught how to give training to cancer patients. The outline and the trainer manual for this workshops is available in 4 languages on the projects webpage. Also 2 Mini-Symposiums with were held. Achievements In total 433 people participated at our events. Additional 278 trainers have been certified in our educational programme. Events in collboration with cancer associations have been shown to be especially successful and attracted the most people. Due to Corona events with a lot of people were no longer been allowed in 2020, so we had to switch to online events. Furthermore, online training videos were created, available for download free of charge.
