โ–ถSummary

Background The project idea was developed building on:> A shared conviction that in the battle for gender equality, every step ahead is a win & complementary personal experiences,> A need to address the lack of diversity in sport governance and help the sector unlock its potential,> A will to bring women leaders into the spotlight while supporting them,> A dream a building meaningful bridges between women with experience as company directors or leaders in civil society and future leaders in sport. Objectives The aim of the project was to develop and test a model to help the sector address the lack of diversity in its decision-making bodies. To reach this ambitious vision, the usability of the products was ensured by 3 main objectives: 1. Assess where we were (to learn from existing resources and initiatives) + 2. Develop a comprehensive Model (in order to create a roadmap to address the issue) + 3. Produce materials and test a pilot supporting and mentoring scheme. Implementation The SWinG project followed 3 phases. PHASE 1 - Jan. 2019 โ€“ Septe. 2019: Research and Development => PHASE 2 -June 2019 - June 2021: Specialised Support and Campaigning => PHASE 3 - June 2021 โ€“ Dec. 2021: Recommendations.Despite adaptations due to the COVID, several activities (mentorsโ€™ orientation session, mentees empowering session, 8 multiplier events, & 14 mini flash campaigns, etc) were conducted & resources (interviews with role models, 8 webinars, 9 Intellectual Outputs, etc) developed. Achievements Whilst you may want to read more in IO8 for more details, here are some key results:* 85% of mentees completed the programme. 94,12% of mentees reported being better equipped to break the glass ceiling. Of all mentees, 75% were elected or appointed to leadership positions.*146 countries reached (through consultation, dissemination, webpage view)* Very positive perceptions of the SWinG programme, toolkits and resources. SWinG provides the sector with a sustain and transfer platform - see IO9.
