โ–ถSummary

Background The LifeAge project has analyzed the lifestyle habits of the adult and elderly population in several European countries. As a result, it has developed several actions and educational material to promote active and healthy aging. During two years the partners actively collaborated and all the planned actions have been carried out, adapting some of them to the situation experienced by the Covid-19 pandemic. Objectives LIFE AGE aimed to assess the health consequences of ageing and sedentary lifestyle, to promote physical activity as a key tool for a healthy and active ageing, to promote voluntary activities in sport, together with social inclusion, equal opportunities and awareness of the importance of health-enhancing physical activity, and equal access to sport for all and to change the sedentary behavior, nutrition habits and promote a healthy lifestyle of adult and elderly people in EU. Implementation LIFE AGE implemented all planned objectives with their corresponding actions. Despite the difficulties of Covid-19 and the suspension of face-to-face meetings, it was possible to continue with the online work between all partners and although the results have been implemented as planned, some of the results had to be adapted to an online modality due to the difficulty of having older people in the universities participating in the project to hold the meetings. Achievements In Phase I was carried out with a subsample of adults and elderly people where several physical condition tests were analyzed and published in a high impact journal: https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/13/1/8. In Phase II educational materials were developed and can be accessed on the project website https://life-age.eu/. In Phase III a promotional video on healthy aging was presented at the international congress of the project. The video can be accessed on the project website https://life-age.eu/
