SPORT YOUNG AMBASSADORs
โถSummary
The project - SPORT YOUNG AMBASSADORs (SYA) was based on a strong collaboration that made the working process clear and transparent for involved parties. Right from the beginning of the project implementation process partner organizations divided roles and responsibilities according to their expertise. In view of the quality management of the project, all partners agreed that a Project Implementation Team (PIT), composed of 3 representatives of Eu Diaspora as applicant organization and 2 country coordinators per each partner organization, would be set up. Among these representatives of the organizations, one was a trainer. The PIT was composed of the most experienced people within the partner organizations to ensure a high quality of the project implementation. The PIT was space for suggesting improvements and as well as a place where mutual and peer-to-peer learning took place. This collaborative partnership project aimed to promote voluntary activities in sport, equal opportunities, and awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle through increased participation in sport for all. Therefore, the project was held through 4 transnational meetings among which kick-off, monitoring, and evaluation meetings with the purpose to present the results achieved at each stage and to ensure the quality adjusting process. Moreover, the implementation phase included international training for the volunteer sports ambassadors and strong involvement of the organizations on the local level within 2 main workstreams. SYA aimed to establish a small collaborative partnership in view of creating a team of Sport Young Ambassadors, which would operate on a local level, with the support of the organizations involved in each of the collaborating countries. Hence the teams of Volunteer Sports Ambassadors were trained by a group of experts during an international meeting. Once trained the young ambassadors implemented the project going to schools, youth associations to promote the sports culture among young people. The main work streams dedicated to local actions were related to the promotion of sports culture and raising awareness about the importance of being physically active, and the promotion of volunteering and its benefits for society. The project implementation process was strongly successful thanks to a collaborative and open communication, the professional relationship among the members, quality backgrounds, and respect for the timelines. In this way, the smooth run and the achievement of a maximum of successful results were guaranteed.
