Summary

The project “Swimming for all” was aimed to create an exchange of good practices regarding swimming as an inclusive sports activity, capable to foster social inclusion. By sharing experiences, know-how, and methodologies among the project’s partners, it will be possible to outline swimming teaching methods and guidelines useful for sports organizations and trainers at the European level. The project has produced three outputs:B1 - Good practices on swimming as an inclusive sport.B2 – Swimming4All Guidelines.B3 - Coaches training module on swimming as an inclusive practice.The project was carried out following different phases:A – PREPARATION AND PROJECT START UPA1- Preparatory actionsA2 - Communication and dissemination preparatory actions.B – REALIZATION OF INTELLECTUAL OUTPUTS This phase was aimed to implement the educative tools of the project.C – SUSTAINABILITY ACTIONSIn this phase, we worked on improving the products, setting up all the necessary actions for the project’s sustainability.D – TRANSVERSAL ACTIONS This task included some actions that have been implemented throughout the entire lifespan of the project.D1 – ManagementD2 - DisseminationD3 - EvaluationIMPACT OF PROJECT ON PARTICIPANTS AND PARTICIPATING ORGANISATIONS Swimming4All had an important impact on participants. In details the project have improved important skills like:-capacities regarding using Swimming activities as Social Inclusion;-skills about teaching to foster social inclusion by sport;-competences to promote good practices;-abilities to create sport and swimming inclusive practices with a European vision. The impact on partner organizations concerned the improvement of several skills like:-organization skills inherent Swimming for social inclusion and cooperation;-network capacity with other organizations at European level;-organization skills inherent Coaching;-abilities to engage new volunteers and participants. The impact on citizens, professionals and volunteers that participated in project’s activities, and were reached by dissemination activities, concerned:-Increased knowledge on swimming as a important way to foster social inclusion;-Development of greater sensitivity about the importance of practice a physical activity like swimming.
