โ–ถSummary

Background In Italy and in the entire Europe, the lack of doing exercise has resulted in the increase of obesity in children and youth (major health problem in developed countries), and in the increased level of inactivity and the incorrect use of digit technologies. But the sport itself is not enough. The progressive detachment from nature experienced by children growing up in cities can cause nature-deficit disorder. Orienteering is the perfect activity to tackle both problems. Objectives During our meetings we discussed and pursued the following broad-spectrum objectives:- Strengthened cooperation between institutions and organisations active in the field of sport and physical activity;- Better participation of sport organisations and other relevant organisations from various Programme Countries in enhanced networks;- Improve sharing of good practices, and key staff competences;- Promote the orienteering discipline, sport for all;- Tackle Nature deficit disorder Implementation This small collaborative partnership project aims at promoting and supporting the mobility of volunteers, coaches, managers and staff of the non-profit sport organisations partners. The project has been held through 4 transnational meetings with the purpose to share the experiences of the people involved, discuss and present the strategies and achieved results of each. Achievements - We have strengthened the cooperation between the partner organizations- Established recreational orienteering strategies accessible to all- Collected best practices and successful techniques in promoting orienteering to encourage physical activity by using sport as a means of healthy living- Collected best practices and successful coaching techniques- Encouraged all types and forms of orienteering from amateur, sporting and racing, to professional and championship orienteering
