Summary

Background Blind fencing is a project that draws on the experience of 5 European sports associations. These associations develop locally fencing handicapped. The objective of this regrouping and to set up training and refresher courses over a 12-month period in the partner countries, coordination meetings to harmonize the rules of blind fencing and sports meetings. In parallel with these organizations, a training program for fencing masters will be developed, and an exchange of best practices will be devel Objectives Encourage social inclusion and equal opportunities in sport Implementation The meetings took place in France, Spain and Italy over the period from Jan 1, 2020 to Dec 31, 2021. A one-year break was observed, as the COVID 19 pandemic led to successive confinements. To present and disseminate the methodology of visually impaired fencing to promote at the level of the countries of the partner clubs inside and outside the sports association a common sense of belonging and participation of all as an important tool in the fight against social exclusion, equal opportunities. Achievements The results are promising.Several European nations have taken the measure of fencing for the visually impaired.
