Summary

Background The aim of “Countering Exclusion In and Through Sports” project was to promote the potential of non-formal learning connected with Sport practice as a means to favour an inclusive approach to Sport practice in young people aged 16-25 potential sportsmen, contrasting the undercurrents of stereotyping in Sport sub-cultures (most notably against migrants, women and LGBT individuals) in Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Italy and Romania. Objectives The project promoted social inclusion and equality of opportunities in Sport by means of creating an environment more conducive to inclusion of disadvantaged groups in grassroots Sport organizations through diffused awareness and activism of young sportsman.For this purpose, CEITS deploys a cooperation between NGOs and Sport organizations, establishing connections among countries characterized by peculiar challenges concerning diversity in the realm of Sport. Implementation The duration of the project was initial of 24 months. The project begin in January 2020. Due to Covid-19 pandemic period we asked for an extension of 6 months, so the project ended on June 2022. Achievements The results achived during the implemented period of the project were:- Kick off meetingand 2 international meeting- Research best practices and challenges in inclusion of disadvantaged categories - Training format - Local Trainngs and Review- Local Activities with Young Sportsmen- Communication and Dissemination- Online platform used for online dissemination and communication- online meetings
