European Ultimate Gender Equity Manual - a program targeting the development of gender equity tools to help encourage more female coaches and leaders in Europe
▶Summary
Background While Ultimate Frisbee relies equally on female and male athletes, an effective methodology and set of guidelines do not yet exist on how best to recruit, train and retain European female Ultimate players to encourage athletes in the mixed gender (referred to as “mixed Ultimate” in this application) and women’s division of Ultimate. Objectives This EUGEM project aimed to develop a gender equity manual for Ultimate federations in Europe to help coaches assess the gender equity gap and then recruit, develop and retain female players using gender equity best practices. Implementation Through the project period we developed a wiki structure and filled it with good practices from within the community and proved exercises as well as real life stories. Additionally a self assessment tool helps to find the entrance to the jungle - "you don't know what you don't know". Achievements - Gender Equity manual (including Good Practices, Stories, Glossary)- Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity Committee- Self Assessment Tool- connection and networks
