Green Line of Reconnection

Background In the Balkans, and especially between the countries of the former Yugoslavia, the problem of the low level of cooperation between sports organizations, sports experts and volunteers after the disintegration of the former common state is clearly expressed. The idea to connect organizations and members involved in mountaineering through joint activities originated from the Via Dinarica project, which, as the motto itself says „Connecting naturally“ we applied to project participants. Objectives The general objective of GLOR project is:To improve cooperative activities of the mountaineering clubs from Balkan region through improvement of mobility, communicating and sharing good practices between volunteers, mountain guides and other experts. Implementation The core of implementation of this mobility project is organization of 3 big exchanges in different countries of partner organizations. The combination of learning about history of mountaineering, about protected areas, Via Dinarica Route, joint hiking and other outdoor activities, marking parts of Via Dinarica long distance path with continuous work on visibility and dissemination made this project successful in meeting the objectives set. Achievements Through realization of main project activities in difficult period of COVID crisis participants and partner organizations strengthened relationship and connected on different levels. To spread the idea of cooperation among mountaineering sport organizations across Balkans we produced articles, photos and videos. By the end of the project lifetime project partners agreed to add result presented as "Map of reconnection" with basic data of clubs and associations willing to cooperate in the future.
