A goal for Inclusion
▶Summary
Background “A goal for Inclusion” project was a transnational cooperation partnership of 5 countries that allowed a group of stakeholders from youth, educational and sport backgrounds to collaborate in a project aimed to foster inclusive youth environments by implementing innovative educational methods with a use of our mini blind football, based on sport to train PE teachers and educators in formal and non-formal inclusive education. This was the philosophy, based also on Olympism as a philosophy of life. Objectives The aim of the project was to educate general schools where pupils with visual impairment attend, NGOs and public structure how to create a more inclusive society with the use of our innovative mini blind footballs as a non-formal learning tool. The unique in the world, Youthorama light sound footballs for blind youngsters, was produced specifically for the current small collaborative partnership. Our proposed educational package had been accredited and approved by the Ministry of Education. Implementation We implemented 3 Transnational Project Meetings in 3 countries and an extra one was cancelled. We produced a digital manual of our pilot educational package translated in English. We applied for the accreditation of the quality to Hellenic Institution of Educational Policy and has been approved by the Greek Ministry of Greece for all type of grades and schools. We did the mapping of schools where pupils with VI and we donated the educational package including the innovative mini blind football. Achievements We received the evaluation forms of the pupils where the educational package was delivered with tremendous success in term of Inclusion, Empathy and personal development. Important stakeholders such as UEFA invited the project’s campaign to deliver inclusive experiential events open to public at UEFA Village in Budapest UEFA EURO 2020. A final video with all partners’ interviews presented the outstanding results in our local communities & the highlight was the introduction of Spanish professors.
