Background Urban Sport and Culture Volunteers project aimed to promote voluntary activities at urban sport and culture (USC) events.The project was carried out by a project consortium of 7 partners from 6 European countries; Pannonian Association (Croatia), Croatian Olympic Committee (Croatia), Champions Factory Ireland Limited (Ireland), Youth Association Extreme Style (Ukraine), Regional Volunteer Centre Kielce (Poland), Elamussport MTรœ (Estonia), and Drustvo Foton (Slovenia). Objectives The overal objective of the project is to increase employability of youth with fewer opportunities through volunteering at sport events. It is divided into three specific objectives: to engage young people with fewer opportunities in volunteering in sports activities, to improve volunteers' skills and key competences for future job opportunities and to raise the awareness about the importance of volunteering in sport. Implementation Recruitment of volunteers for USC events to train them for sport event management by increasing relevant skills and key competences so they become more competent on the labour market. Development, implementation and evaluation of three NFE trainings, volunteering at USC events, development of Volunteering handbook and Volunteering app. Exchange of good practices among partners and running the awareness raising campaing about importance of volunteerign in sport throughout project duration. Achievements Enhanced, recognised and validated skills of 130 volunteers/participants in NFE trainings. International volunteering network for urban sports and culture scene (210 volunteers volunteered at 19 urban sport and culture events). Exchanged and disseminated good practices, published Volunteer program for urban sport and cultural events: A How-To and developed Volunteering Web Application. Successful awareness raising campaign conducted by 7 partner organisations with international audience.
