โ–ถSummary

Background The Inclusive Schools model is increasingly gaining ground over the Special Schools model on the international scene. But when it comes to SPORT field, the challenge is more complex, from a cultural, institutional and practical point of view. It is not about overcoming the Special Sport offer (separate sports practices); it is about enriching it with new Inclusive Sport Pratices that have to be developped, recognized and spread to an European level. BASKIN is a good example of this new model. Objectives The objective of ENOBA was to promote BASKIN as an innovative and concrete inclusive sport model in Europe, as recognized by the Design For All Foundation. Culturally speaking, BASKIN suggests to go beyond the only idea of OLYMPIC GAMES for able-bodied and PARALYMPIC GAMES for disabled, by adding also the culture of "ALL'YMPIC GAMES" for all.More specifically, the project aimed to coordinate and reinforce a European network of isolated partners that were already realizing some Baskin locally. Implementation The strategic working plan of ENOBA was focused on the development of a European Baskin Academy. The partners were involved in discussing, defining, sharing and applying different management procedures, organizational strategies and training methodologies to form new Baskin coaches, referees, scorekeepers and PE teachers. The project planned on one side to take advantage from the longer experience of Italy and on the other side to enrich it with the particular working context of the partners. Achievements The main result of ENOBA has been to structure the informal Baskin network by developing a new Baskin Academy able to coordinate all training processes in Europe. 1. ENOBA made grow up 12 new Baskin trainers qualified to lead courses in the 5 partner countries. 2. These new trainers made grow up 63 Baskin coaches, 11 Baskin referees, 14 Baskin scorekeepers and 16 PE teachers.3. These new actors made grow up 290 Baskin players in sport clubs, 170 students at school, 90 students at university.
