Spontaneous Exercise
▶Summary
Background The Spontaneous Exercise project is implemented as part of the topic “Promote education in and through sport with special focus on skills development”. Through a number of sporting activities, we have now created a joint model of physical exercises which enables the acquisition of knowledge and gaining new motor skills or improving the quality of existing ones. Objectives The project seeks to develop a model combining professional sport with safe physical recreation. It is aimed at encouraging people to get involved in physical activity, become fitter and better motivated. The implementation of the model by organisational entities will disseminate it among European communities. Implementation Organisation and participation in international partner meetings were a key activity instrumental in the implementation of the project. They involved: extensive talks with our partners, analysis of concepts and conclusions, participation in model physical activities, observing the ways in which sport groups operate in all partner countries. Achievements The result of our project is that our group of experts has developed a European model of spontaneous physical activities entitled “Spontaneous Exercise” encouraging people to get involved in physical activity. The project will be easy to implement in all European countries. A multimedia presentation and a booklet describing the model in five simple steps sum up and present its contents.
