Summary

Background The aim of the project „Wrestling in Safe Mode“ is to prevent injuries and protect health of young wrestling athletes by improving training and competition conditions. Objectives The general objective is prevention of injuries and health protection of young wrestling athletes by improving training and competition conditions. Specific objectives: Development and implementation of enchanced wrestling training methodology for coaches/trainers by organizing best practices exchange workshops; Strengthening the awareness of key stakeholders (coaches, wrestling sport clubs, sport association, local or national sport authorities) about the importance of safe wrestling trainings Implementation Project was implemented in 3 EU countries. During the project implementation, we have organized 4 TPM. Also, we have implemented all the activities in scope of the following work packages: WP0: Project management; WP1: Preparation and Implementation of Best practice exchange Workshops; WP2: Development of Recommendations on Wrestling Training Methodology improvement and WP3: Evaluation, Dissemination and Visibility. Main project outputs were delivered: Training manual and video guide. Achievements Through the project we have developed Training manual and video guide consisted of mmeasures and recommendations aimed at improving training and competition conditions by using proper training methodology in order to prevent injuries and protect health of wrestling athletes. Project web page was developed as well as social media pages. Skills and knowledge of wrestling coaches was enhanced on the wrestling training methods, and awareness was raised on the project topic.
