ParaCoaching Xcellerator Series: Accelerating the growth of ParaCoaching in Europe

Summary

Background The ParaCoaching Xcellerator Series implemented an Accelerator Programme on the topic of E-Learning with Parasport organisations. The programme consisted of workshops to promote exchange between the particpant organisations, small scale pilot projects around the topic, a mentoring process to support the organisations acheive their goals and 'Coach Connector' events to engage the chosen target groups. Tools, resources and lessons learned from the project were bundled onto a project website. Objectives The project focussed around three overall objectives; (a) Strategic development of ParaCoaching (b) ParaCoach Knowledge Transfers (c) Profile & Perception of ParaCoaching. To achieve this, the project developed and implemented a sequence of exchange workshops between key stakeholders in Paracoaching, followed by sport specific community building via Coach Connector events. A replicable accelerator framework has been established alongside tool and resources, and a regional marketing campaign Implementation Partners needs and sector resources were mapped. The accelerator programme was developed and delivered following a structure of 3 workshops with partners and mentors, complemented by the creation of a mentoring framework. The participant organisations implemented pilot projects in the field of E-Learning, including 3 Coach Connector Events. Marketing material was created and released, lessons learned andresources identified and created through the project were collected on the project website. Achievements NPC Latvia established their first ever E-Learning resources for coaches in the sport of Para Table Tennis. Parasport Denmark launched their first ever blended learning course for coaches in Para-Swimming. IFCPF expanded their learning environment. 3 x Coach Connectors were delivered to engage the audience. In addition, a resource-based website has been established which hosts resources for system builders and potential Parasports Coaches, awareness raising material, a community platform.
