Opportunities for inclusion of vulnerable youth through sport

Background It is developed strategies using sports as a vehicle of social inclusion of the most vulnerable and at risk children and adolescents. The target is the most vulnerable young people but also the technician and trainers who working with them and we designed and implemented methodologies and interventions based on the promotion of resilience through the practice of sport for preventing and reducing social exclusion situations, while building life and social skills for a better integration. Objectives The Sport!Op! policy help, guide, direct and encourage sport and development stakeholders and policymakers towards increased sports participation among vulnerable environments designing inclusive programs that can attain sport for all. It also ensure that sports programs are improved, effective, equitable and efficient. It creates a more integrated approach between the full spectrum consolidate a local community-based strategy of stakeholders and the sports and education sector. Implementation The activities have been limited by the COVID pandemic. One part of period with online meetings with partners and also with local stakeholders, and other part with presential meetings have allowed create the Good Practices, Methodological Handbook, Strategic Action Plan in each territori, and Policy Recommendations realised with stakeholders through in the Multiplier Sport Events. Publication of videos of the activities like basis of communication. Achievements The process explained above is a resource for sports bodies to enable them to build inclusive, resilient educational projects through sports activities. Methodological Handbook is presented as a set of explanatory tables that outline the proposals made by the participating institutions regarding the aspects that they consider important in order to develop resiliency through sports and physical activities. Besides, each partner designed a Strategic Local Action Plan to develop in the next months.
