Summary

Background The project involves and brings together a group of three organizations actively engaged in sports, education through sport, and the youth sector. Starting from the concept that the sport can be used as tool for skill acquisition and validation, promoting dual careers of athletes and supporting good governance in sport, the project aims to collect all the partners’ good practices in the sphere of sport as skill acquisition tool and to design and test an innovative model of а portfolio. Objectives The SportFolio model consists of general principles to be followed when designing training programs for young athletes and young people involved in sport, based on the integrative approach of combining sport activities with skills acquisition and development. The SportFolio model contained examples of innovative tools and techniques especially created to accompany training activities in order to foster transferable skill and key competences acquisition. Implementation We created the SportFolio Model combining sport training with skills development. A survey on the existing similar methodologies was made. Leading partners: shared leadership between the three partner organizations. Distribution of roles: a thematic task group involving expert and coaches with representatives of all partners will support the leading partner in the implementation.
