Let the disabled join the board

Background Let the disabled join the board is an Erasmus+ sport project which has built small collaborative partnerships. The Project duration is 18 months. In our project, we have used sports and PE activities as a tool for social inclusion of people with disabilities. We have built the project on a multi-faceted collaboration and innovative synergy in the localities of each partner. This cooperation covers all the local public institutions working on the disabled and sports, NGOs and local actors. Objectives We aimed to disseminate of disabled sports and coverage of larger disabled masses. Also, by the help of this project, we could make social inclusion of disabled people through sports and physical activity and contributed to the creation of employment and economic revitalization in the field of sports. We had targets as providing safe and independent life skills for young people with disabilities, enabling them to express themselves through sports and promoting the rehabilitation process. Implementation We formed "units" that include institutions/organizations and individuals of similar status for activities and collaborations of the project. The coordination and interactions among these units and institutions were carried to the European dimension within the project processes. For example, "the project NGO units", which consist of NGOs in the locals of four project partners, interrelated to each other and developed new collaborations. The project was managed by international management team. Achievements We established a communication network connecting the institutions and organizations related to the disabled and sports in the places of the partners. We maintained the functions of this network over the internet in the dissemination period. Thus, local institutions and organizations followed each other after the project, established solidarity, created new collaborations and projects. We arranged disabled leagues. In order to organize the leagues, we established a committee as in our project.
