Bet on health
▶Summary
Background At the local and national level we still face a lack of participation in sports and recreation. Project specifics are the transfer of good practice in the implementation of sporting activities for the youth. The practise is based on use of the nature for greater sport activation. Objectives The main purpose of the project “Bet on Health” (BoH) was to increase the level of youth participation in sport and develop a motivational model. The side goal was to include at least 500 participants in project activities. Leading project’s objectives followed the Europe 2020 strategy and with its activities emphasised on research and development, education, employment, and poverty reduction. Implementation Project was implemented within 21 activities, divided in 8 sports activities, 4 promotional, 8 research and educational and management and coordination as obligatory one. It connected partners from public, non governmental and business environment who are working in the fields of health, sports, youth, tourism, research and education. Project idea was to motivate youngsters with not typical approaches to familiar sports and to find different possibilities for sports in nature. Achievements Developed motivational model for greater involvement of young in sport, based on testing of 20 youngsters actively involved in 7 different sport within 53 trainings implemented in 100 hours. Additionally the project actively involved 7.660 individuals in different sports. All results are presented on project's web page where several developed toolkits for greater sport activities are available.
