Summary

Background MAGICS wants to create new opportunities for the mobility of athletes, the sharing of best practices at the European level to favor the cross-fertilization and internationalization of the activities of small recreational clubs and traditional sports’ teams, for a tighter-knit society, more inclusive and active at European level. MAGICS project developed from the good experience of the previous STEP ONE project. Objectives Main objectives of MAGICS: -promote traditional sports and games-Share best practices among recreational clubs-favor the international mobility of athletes-create deeper synergies with the education and youth sector-favor collaboration with civil society, promote gender balance and good management-promote volunteerism in sport-promote “sports for all” and participation in unconventional sports activities. Implementation MAGICS had five main phases:-Preparatory activities: local meetings, a gathering of recommendations, First Transnational Meeting (CY)-Implementation activities: open days, 3 Exchanges of athletes and trainers (LT, IT, HU)-Monitoring activities: local and project monitoring, Zoom control meetings-Evaluation activities: internal reports and questionnaires, Second Transnational Meeting (ES)-Dissemination activities: media coverage, dissemination tools, website, and social nets. Achievements MAGICS main results:-improvement of European citizenship, internationalizing competencies and methods, and sharing best practices-promotion of European policies on sport, Erasmus+ Sport-highlight the educational role of traditional sports-highlight the role of transgenerational training and transmission of knowledge in traditional sports-reduction of the level of competitiveness, promotion of Fairplay and good governance-enhancement of international competencies of small sports clubs.
