โ–ถSummary

Background The project comes from the idea that even if sport is a beneficial environment, phenomenon such as hate speech and discrimination affect sport participaption and consequently have an impact on individual's development and the growth of an inclusive society. Hate speech, in particular, is sometimes not even detected as such but words in many cases hurt more than a sword. the project was created to counter this phenomenon favoring inclusive process in which diversity is an added value. Objectives The main aim of the project was preventing and contrasting hate speech in the sport field at grassroots level by creating and testing an educational programme targeting trainers, teachers, coaches, volunteers, youth workers active in the sport field at the grassoroots level. To do so, we created a pool of trained people from our organization who implemented activities in their local realities, and using the experience to raise awareness and give tips to other members of the sport movement. Implementation The project started with the collection of good practices which were useful to prepare the training programme, to train a pool of participants who implemented local activities in their area. feebacks served to individuate practices and tools that can be used at the local level and replicated. The project and the products were presented into a final event on the 10th of December in Rome. In the same day, partners organized an offline campaign to raise awareness on the topic. Achievements The main results of the project were:-people trained who conducted their local activities; they are now resources working or volunteering for the partners;-local activities implemented in Romania, Italy (3) and Sweden and 1 joint activity in France-the video tutorials prepared by the participants of the meeting to raise awareness on the topic and give some practical examples on activities that can be done to prevent and contrast hate speech in sport.
