Equal oportunities for women in handball

Background Promoting equality in sport is one of the key goals of the Council of Europe since the very beginning of the program's implementation in the field of sport. Despite the formal existence of various regulations, declarations, recommendations prohibiting discrimination and various anti-discrimination campaigns, various forms of discrimination against women in sport still exist. Objectives The general objective of the project "Equal oportunities for women in handball" is to encourage social inclusion and equal opportunities. The specific goal of the project is strengthening capacity of women handball players, referees, coaches and womens in management and raised awareness of all stakeholders, decision makers and target groups. Implementation In order to achieve results that will contribute to the achievement of the objective through the project, we implemented 4 TPM and 3 best practices exchange meetings. The created Women's Handball brochure was a precondition for the sustainability of the project both at the local and international levels. Dissemination and visibility of project activities and results raised awareness of the general public and decision-makers about the goals and activities of the project and the added value. Achievements All documents (Project Management Plan, Internal Evaluation Plan, and Partners agreement) and promo materials (logo, leaflets, posters, penguins, t-shirts, certificates) were prepared and translated as it was planned in the Project design. 4 TPM and 4 project management meetings were organized in partner countries. The final brochure was created and disseminated. The project was promoted through different social media. The European week of sport was celebrated by all partners countries.
