▶Summary
Background The project "Sport@Street" was responce to the need of tackle the real risk of permanent exclusion for young people in situations of social disadvantage especially from (sub) urban and rural areas. The main aim of project was to enhance the social inclusion of young people from deprived urban areas. Sport@Street project promoted collaboration between organizations working in the education, social and cultural fields, particularly in the field of social inclusion through sports. Objectives The project carried the following objectives:•Increased the social inclusion and empowerment of disadvantaged youth•Promotion of the “Street Workout” as a healthy lifestyle •Opportunity for young people to improvw their physical condition •Provide new opportunities for the involvement in sports activities and Non-Formal Education of young people in disadvantage situation•Exchange of best practices among organisations involved in Street Workout•Create future E+ partnerships Implementation We implemented four Transtantional Project Meetings:1. Kick-off meeting and study visit in Amsterdam, Nederland2. Study Visit in Riga, Latvia3. Midterm Meeting and Study Visit in Tusa, Italy4. Seminar on Street Workout and non-formal education. and in each partner country we organised "Street Workout" workshops that were organised by the partner organisations open for the young people from local community. Achievements Through this project inovlved participants experienced increased mobility and active participation in society, they developed key competences and skills through the project's workshops, gained the ability to recognize employment and volunteering opportunities in their everyday lives, fostering creativity and innovation and we provided opportunities for local young people to meet their peers form other countires.
