MOtivating patients to Voluntary physical Exercise
▶Summary
Background The project partners share the mission of improving the health, well-being and social inclusion of patients and other vulnerable groups such as elderly people, persons with mental health disorders or intellectual disabilities.Some of them can be characterized by a poor attitude or capacity in practising physical activity and sport. The partner organisations need to define common methodologies to motivate and involve more regularly and efficiently these persons in physical activity and sport. Objectives -Exchange and comparison of the most beneficial and cost-effective training programs -MOVE project aims at identifying successful methodologies to lead patients to a continuous physical exercise and sport practice, enhancing their health conditions and social inclusion. A cycle of 3 transnational meetings will involve dozens of trainers, sport staff, health and care professionals as well as patients from the participating organizations-1 handbook and 1 protocol Implementation -3-4 internal good practices to be discussed at each of the transnational meetings.-Organisation of 3 transnational meetings - Elaboration and publication of 1 handbook with a description of the successful practices shared in the three meetings and 1 protocol on physical activity and sport programmes for patients and vulnerable groups- Evaluation of the results through questionnaires distributed to participants-Dissemination of the results.-Sustainability and follow-up Achievements -A combined handbook with a description of successful practices and a protocol as a common guideline to develop, manage and monitor regular physical activity programs was published -Boosting international cooperation of the partners through establishment of an informal network-The participants improved their knowledge and competencies-Several cooperations were established, (e.g. Lebenswelten der Barmherzigen Brüder – Steiermark and DanceAbility®)
