Aspiring and Inspiring Youth Leaders

Background Sport Leadership off the pitch is of the same importance as leadership on the pitch. We embarked on a journey with selected youth leaders and put together a program which will help future young people not only to achieve their sports potential but above all their human potential Objectives This program is about 10 european partners from various backgrounds teaming up to put together an inspiring leadership program for those youth leaders who are ready to make a next step toward a more senior function in the national or international sports world.The leadership program was put together with help of the youth participants themselves together with other non-hockey specific experts. The main aim was to provide tools and development programmes to support young leaders on their way up Implementation During a 3 year programme we designed, piloted and developed various outputs for leadership development among young people. We have put together an awareness campaign to share the learnings among various target audiences and have secured sustainable embedment by the european hockey federation Eurohockey who was so kind to integrate all outputs we created in their Hockey Institute development platform Achievements The key results are 2 leadership programmes. One focused on development of youth forums on a national level and the second focused on developing individual youth leaders via an 8 month currriculum.
