NOTice to AirMen
βΆSummary
Background A big challenge for paragliding pilots during their cross-country flights is to make sure that they donβt enter restricted air spaces (NOTAMs). The problem pilots face with these NOTAMS is that they are not visually represented and accessible once you are in the air.The aim of our project was to make paragliding safer by developing a mobile application capable to visually represent on a map the NOTAMs in all EU countries and educate the pilots in correctly using the air traffic information. Objectives O1. Develop a mobile application to provide accurate, easy to use and up to date information about air traffic control regulations, especially controlled airspaces and NOTAMS. O2. Raise the awareness among paraglider pilots across Europe about the existence of a NOTAM mobile application and educate them about how to access and comply with air traffic control regulations.
