Summary

Background In collaboration with 9 other universities in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Romania, Austria, Germany, Finland, Netherlands and Ireland, the Université Savoie Mont Blanc has organized the 1st « soft trail » for European students. The challenge was to take place around the Mont-Blanc, the summit of Europe, which is in itself a symbol in that it is shared between 3 countries of the European continent. The project was seen as structuring for university cooperation on a European scale. Objectives - SOLIDARITY: starting and finishing all the stages of the project as a team, leaving no-one behind,- COMMUNITY: developing the sense of belonging to Europe and act as a European citizen,- MULTI-CULTURALITY: learning to develop projects with students from other backgrounds,- HEALTH: promoting sports and physical activities as a vehicle for good health,- NATURE: drawing students' attention to the importance of preserving their natural environment Implementation 5 multicultural teams, where each nationality is represented, set off on 6 June 2021 from Chamonix for a 5-day hike. The students had to show their team spirit to complete all the stages of the trail together. In addition to the sporting challenge, a creative challenge awaited the members of the adventure. During the trail, they proved their ability to work in an intercultural context by producing a video in which they expressed their ideas to better integrate and promote sport at university. Achievements At the end of our Tour, all the 93 participants were questioned via a satisfaction and impact measurement questionnaire. On the basis of their answers, an analysis of the results and impacts was drawn up, showing a record level of satisfaction: the average score given to the event by its participants was 9.55/10!
