Learning through mobility of sports’ volunteers
▶Summary
Background “Learning through the mobility of sports’ volunteers” (MOVING) was a Small Collaborative Partnership in the field of Sports and aimed to support the mobility of volunteers, coaches, managers, and staff of non-profit sports organizations. The project seeked to answer the priority European policy challenge of supporting volunteering in the field of Sport as a vehicle of employability, economic growth, and social engagement. Objectives Support the mobility of volunteers, coaches, managers, and staff of non-profit sports organizations.Creation of a European network to facilitate the possibility for volunteers and NGOs build their own experience in the field of sports via mobilityFoster professional quality, attractiveness and operational results of grassroots Sport organizations through exchange of best practices and development of quality professionalism of staff and volunteers through Non-Formal Education and e-learning Implementation The project answered the priority European policy challenge of supporting volunteering in the field of Sport as a vehicle of employability, economic growth, and social engagement, by raising awareness, through the conducted research about volunteers' condition, training course format for the empowerment of volunteers, as well as developed a publication encompassing the whole process and results achieved in the activities across partner countries. Achievements The project achieved networking and exchange of best practices between project partners and external stakeholders. A handbook on state-of-the-art, case studies, and best practices about disability in and through sports was created. All partners contributed to the collection and sharing of best practices for empowering volunteering in sports. Created a network of specialized ambassadors by training 4 young people per partner. Implemented visibility and dissemination activities.
