Summary

Background Sailing Coaches and young sailors focus their efforts on technical skills in sailing, physical condition and put a lot of pressure on results. Training is based on practicing all the maneuvers, regattas and competition strategy and tricks. The winning is the most important and as a result a lot of young sailors quit sailing training due to high expectations, hard work and stress. The project shows added value of sailing - lifelong skills development and promotes active, and healthy lifestyle. Objectives HORN Kraków desires to create European Sailing Collaboration Network to work together for the excellence in sailing for young people and show the educational and experiential learning path that helps young sailors develop skills for lifetime. Our project will unite the best practices and experience from Europe, combine them, create European skills development sailing program, and raise the bar for our sailors to practice excellence in sport and in life.Training and growing together is our motto Implementation 6 organisations (4 sailing clubs, 1 IT university, 1 NGO) were working together exchanging good practices, running research, writing guide for sailing coaches, developing Sailing Together App for sailing clubs and preparing report from study visits with good practices. Creating new alliances, involving international and national sailing federations, preparing videos, materials and promoting sailing as a tool to grow and gain skills for the future of young sailors/athletes practicing sailing. Achievements 1. Creating and implementing “Sailing for better future” - research, training program and activities focused on teaching lifelong skills to young sailors. 2. “Sailing together” Trainer - trainee App for guiding and monitoring training and learning process3. Study Visits report - good practices from clubs involved in the project - inspiration and practical report from 8 sailing clubs from Poland, Austria, Portugal, Italy and Turkey. plus videos, inspirational stories and life changing sport
