โ–ถSummary

The main objective of the project is to support the preparation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and dissemination of the non-profit sport event โ€“ the European Universities Games 2021 in Belgrade, Serbia, with special focus given to the field of volunteering and promotion of voluntary activity in sport. The three-pronged focus of the project will be the implementation of the volunteer training, the carrying out competitions making up the Games, and the organisation of educational and cultural events. Volunteer activities will encompass general and specific training, monitoring and evaluation as well as debrief; the sports element will involve the organisation of 20 different sporting competitions; educational aspect involves the organisation of a two-day EUSA Conference, also having additional workshops and masterclasses during the event; and the cultural events will link complete the mosaic of the Games. With the Games being the biggest university sport event in Europe in 2021, the project will not only impact and benefit the large number of volunteers (over 2000) expected at the competition, but also other participants, key stakeholders and participating organisations involved in the organisation of, and present at, the event. By linking sport, education and culture to volunteering, the project goals are in-line and will contribute to the realization of different EU objectives, especially involving people with fewer opportunities, ensuring fair gender representation and inclusion, addressing issues of physical inactivity, promoting, developing and validating volunteering and its values and increasing employability. The cross-sector approach used will generate a spill-over effect to organizations operating in different fields such as education, culture, volunteering and youth. Organisational knowledge in preparing, implementing and following up will be shared with individuals and interested organisations/institutions long after the conclusion of the proje
