Outdoor Sports in Nature for Skills Development

Background Physical inactivity is the fourth leading risk factor for death globally and is responsible for 6% of deaths worldwide and for 5โ10% in the European.Scientific evidence shows major beneficial effects of physical activity on health. Physical activity reduces the risk of most chronic diseases.Engaging in sport is one of the ways of being physically active and the sports movement has a great influence on the level of health- enhancing physical activity in the general population. Objectives The project aims to encourage participation in sport and physical activity in nature, especially by supporting the implementation of European Union (EU) policy documents in the field of sport and other relevant policy areas such as recommendations, guidelines, policy strategies, and the implementation of the Council Recommendation on health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA). Implementation The project was carried out at local and international level through the activities; search for good practices, mapping of stakeholders and meetings with them; transnational coordination meetings; social media channels; realisation of an awareness campaign in each country to spread good practices and motivate people to practice outdoor sports in nature; digital platform where all the results are included, Achievements Thanks to our project, we were able to achieve these results: - 25 best practices on handbook- 297 people attending the awareness campaign in 5 countries- 5 awareness campaign in 5 countries- 1 video summary of the project- 1 project webpage with materials developed- 24 organizations or institutions as potential beneficiaries
