Background Exhaustive and in-depth research was carried out to identify those personal and organizational barriers to the participation and development of sports entities. These can be of different nature and the formative model provides answers as well as alternatives to overcome and improve those elements that make it difficult for a sports organization to be inclusive. Objectives Identify the key elements of a coach education program for social inclusion in sport. Develop an educational program for youth sports coaches that offers a realistic strategy for social inclusion in sport. To examine the feasibility and effectiveness of the program as a method of grassroots coach education. Disseminate evidence-based principles of good coaching practice and project results. Disseminate the results of the project and the proposed model to sports entities and politicians. Implementation Throughout the life of the project, initiatives and activities were carried out with the aim of testing the feasibility of the training and its content. All partners worked together and collaboratively in focus groups, pilot tests, follow-up meetings, multiplier sport event, seminars, among others. The theoretical and practical approach of all activities enriched the whole working process, which was reflected in the quality of the results obtained. Achievements First, a theoretical research work and a compilation of good practices to define the conceptual basis from which the model was generated. With it, the training model for sport professionals could be developed through an Online Learning Centre accessible to all and free of charge. In addition, the European Coaches Network was created to discuss, promote the exchange of professional experiences and good practices. Finally, everything was translated into a handbook in 7 languages.
