Summary

Background The project had a goal to promote Capoeira as a tool for social inclusion and involve underprivileged youth in activities, boosting their confidence and self-esteem, helping them to stay fit and healthy, bringing them closer to the community. Another part of the project was aimed at equipping youth workers with the knowledge about Capoeira, its history, and necessary skills to organize local activities. Objectives We aimed to reach our main objectives: 1. To promote Capoeira as an inclusive activity 2. Organize free Capoeira classes involving young underprivileged people 3. To share good practices among the partner countries 4. Organize two training courses to equip youth workers with the necessary skills and knowledge about Capoeira 5. Raise awareness about the problem of social exclusion and Capoeira’s potential contribution to its solution 6. Create a good practice toolkit to be shared. Implementation The project’s implementation was done both online and during the physical meetings and activities. Some planned physical gatherings had to be done online due to Covid-19 related travel and event organizing restrictions. The main project’s implementation events were these: 1) Transnational project meetings and training courses 2) Local Capoeira events 3) Creation of the online platform and the Good Practice toolkit 4) Regular online meetings of the quality board to assess the project's progress. Achievements The objectives and goals set in the project’s application were reached thereby successfully concluding the implementation of the project. The following results were accomplished: 1) Creation of strong partnerships and sharing of the knowledge 2) Online platform documenting all the activities and resources 3) Project’s methodology 4) Local impact and reached target groups during local Capoeira classes and final events 5) Training courses for youth workers were implemented
