Summary

Background The topic addressed was promoting EU traditional sports and games by focusing on exploring traditional bat-and-ball sports within the partners’ countries, identifying similarities and cultural origins of these sports and subsequently promoting them among young people with whom the parners work. The aim of this project was to increase the popularity of traditional batt-and-ball sports and games in the partner’s community, among their target group represented by young people, and general public. Objectives O1. Created an international context for 4 organisations from RO, HU and EE to exchange practices and collaborate towards increasing the popularity of European traditional batball sports.O2. Contributed to raising awareness and visibility among youth with regards to the history, the rules and the equipment needed to play 2 batball sports, meta and oina.O3. Put the basis of a European framework that valorises and promotes the battbal traditional sports. Implementation The implementation of the project included management activities and thematic activities. Were organised 4 TPMs in order to coordinate the project smoothly. As for the thematic part, we started by gathering information on the 2 traditional sports, then created visual materials to promote and raise awareness of the two traditional sports. We organised live events and demonstrations in all 3 countries.
