“Play this Game - Mixed Football for Children”
▶Summary
Background Project promoted and encouraged participation in sport and physical activity among school-age children, according to the Council's Recommendation on physical activity that improves health and the development of collaboration between sports clubs and federations with primary schools, by implementing mixed football. We created for the first-time rules and criteria for the selection of children in mixed football applicable within football federations but also by sports teachers in primary schools. Objectives The general objective - to increase the participation of children in sports and physical activities as part of health-enhancing, by creating the appropriate framework in mixed football for children, both for football clubs and federations, and for schools as an integral part in sports hours. Sharing best practices; putting more emphasis in creating the framework for the formation of mixed football teams for children; promoting sport and gender equality; promotion of mixed football for children. Implementation Project included the following activities: management activities, information and promotion activities, Transnational meetings, intellectual outputs, collaborative activities with schools and promotion of sports as a healthy lifestyle among children, procurement and dissemination activities. Control measures were taken for each activity to ensure the quality of the final results and the quality of the project as a whole. Due to medical and travel restrictions, project was extended by 6 months. Achievements 3 Intellectual Outputs through 4 Transnational and online meetings; 6 competitions mixed football in partner countries. Selection rules and criteria for mixed football teams of children, aged 8-14 years, was sent to National Football Federations, FIFA and UEFA in the form of a brochure, to be considered as the basis for the creation of these criteria at the international level. In Moldova, project is already implemented at the national level by including a mixed football class in sports schools.
