โ–ถSummary

Background Stand up paddling is a fairly new sport which has not been accessible for the larger public yet. Stand up paddling is a sport which is done on the water (sea, canals, lakes etc.) with a board and a paddle. As you have to stay balanced all the time and use your whole body to paddle, this is an all body workout. That is why this project focuses on executing free stand up paddle lessons (clinics) for school classes. The clinics are necessary to provide children with the basic skills. Objectives 1. Spread stand up paddling as a sport, through introducing it in a new target group, making it accessible foryoungster in elementary and vocational schools;2. Improve physical activity for youngsters, thereby focusing on positive effect on health;3. Create a best practice example to make funding by local government/sport bonds etc. possible;4. Writing an handbook on how to execute SUP clinics on schools5. Create awareness about environment by taking trash from the water Implementation Three things are essential, for the implementation of the project:- Every partner needs to find schools, finding 10 classes of 25 children/participants - Every partners needs to create a planning, and share this on the Google Drive with all partners- All partners receive a checklist for developing a clinic for children, created by SupSkool Leeuwarden. Achievements - A network between SUP schools has been set up were they continue to exchange good practices- SUP schools are introduced to a new target group, children, which they will continue to learn how to paddle, because we invested time in finding new sources for funding.- Around 1000 children have been thought the basics of stand up paddling and they can develop this after the project.- A checklist is available for sup school to see what is necessary in order to give a sup clinic to children.
