Summary

Background Flag football is a young sport based on American football principles but represents its non-contact version. Its a sport for people of all ages, gender, backgrounds and abilities and is an ideal sport for mixed gender teams. Flag football provides a right fit to be a tool to deliver the educational potential of sport, to fight against obesity and diseases and to promote and spread European values among young people. However, flag football is not very popular and known among public. Objectives The project aims to promote youth participation in sport, enhance the accessibility and social inclusion of young people and equalize gender gap. Objectives are:- to collect good practices regarding education of flag football- to exchange trainers and teachers know-how and experience;- to organize unique flag-football events for youth on regional and international level- to promote flag football as new Sport for Everybody- to develop online platform how to teach flag football Implementation Many activities took place within the project:4 national tournaments International Flag Football Tournament3 transnational-project meetings1 international conferenceDevelopment of online platform - methodology how to teach flag football, know-how and recommendations4 webinars for PE teachers about flag football and educational methodology and surveys among them Mapping existing good practices regarding Flag Football in schoolsDissemination and promotion activities Achievements Main results are:- many young people motivated be more physically active through involvement of new interactive sport; - many young people got opportunity to participate in unique International Championship; - many PE teachers and sport organisations learnt about new “Sport of Everybody” through meetings, webinars, conference and online platform; - more schools incorporated Flag football during physical education classes as a regular sport;
