Summary

Background The project brought together sport and social organizations aiming to improve inclusion of young people through mentoring in the field of sport.Sport helps young people:•Reinforce emotional and soft skills • Brings them closer to the community and promote networkingClubs and sports organisations need:• To better reach groups at risk in order to better respond to the problems of the society • Capacity building on developing inclusive processes within their sport activities. Objectives The SPORTME project has 4 objectives: 1) To generate social inclusion in sport through mentoring processes. 2) To develop healthy habits, competences and emotional management through the practice of sport and its values 3) To support sport clubs and organizations in the design of inclusive and social cohesion processes, 4) To establish social responsibility in sport environments by developing strategies to guarantee access to sport for all. Implementation The project was implemented in 5 phases:1.Preparatory phase: aimed to extract & analyse good practices. 2.Development of guidelines on social mentoring in the field of sports 3.Training capsule: aimed to train persons in the field of sports to be mentors. 4.Small Mentoring pilots to test the contents addressed in the Mentoring guidelines and learnings from the training capsule.5.Short videos to document the implementation of mentoring and inclusion experiences in the field of sports Achievements Results: 1) Guidelines for sport clubs or social organizations interested in being introduced to the field of mentoring and sport 2) awareness rising videos with testimonies and practical experiences of young people and social and sport associations participating in mentoring pilots 3) Dissemination Newsletters.
