โ–ถSummary

Background The development of alpine skiing has dramatically changed skiing technology, enabling higher speeds, and offering less safety. More and more skiers are hitting the slopes with limited motor and functional skills and different expectations. It is essential to adapt and update teaching methods to these changes, so ski instructors need to expand their knowledge and skills. The recent pandemic is also prompting us to look for new approaches based on mobile platforms and multimedia technologies. Objectives - to promote education in and through sport with special focus on ski instructors and competence development- to overcome language and culture barriers in order to improve and facilitate the process of teaching skiing- to enable ski instructors to upgrade teaching competencies (certificate) adapted to the needs of ski beginners (teaching model) and professional career development- to encourage participation in snows sports (MSE) for children from deprived social and cultural environments. Implementation In three years, nine partners have developed the unified teaching model and other didactic tools in 8 official and 3 additional meetings. A lot of intellectual work and practical experiences of the project members were invested in the development and implementation of outputs, which were also tested during the SKI EASY snow day for ski beginners from socially disadvantaged backgrounds.
